Trippin’ all over your apathy
So tomorrow we expect to be working out the final mix for our first professionally recorded song, “Everything”!
But before we get to debuting that, here’s another look into Paul’s tortured soul with some lyrics
You’re so empty, cause everything inside of you
Trippin’ all over your apathy, but you won’t
Take every, take everything… everything
And I’m so full of it that I can’t, I can’t see straight
Can’t you see what I’ve become without you?
Take every, take everything!
And you want to fight my piece of mind
And you cannot feel betrayed
All I want to feel is love
Take everything, don’t you take everything from me!
I’m so empty, cause everything that you took from me
I don’t know where to begin without this
To take every, take everything… everything
You’re so empty, cause everything inside you starts to clot
Can’t you see what you’ve become without me
To take every, take everything!
And you want to fight my piece of mind
And you cannot feel betrayed
All I want to feel is love
Take everything, don’t you take everything from me!
Yeah!
And you want to fight my piece of mind
And you cannot feel betrayed
All I want to feel is love
Take everything, don’t you take everything from me
And you want to fight my piece of mind
And you want to feel his love
Take, take, take, take every!
Take, take, take, take every!
Take, take, take, take every!
Take, take, take, take every!
American Idol
Most people that know me are surprised to know that I don’t abso-fucking-lutely hate American Idol. I don’t like it, either. I’m just not interested.
American Idol is just as legitimate as the previous pop music selection methodology. A process so deliberately calculated with results so artificial I call it “Factory Music.” Which isn’t to diminish real talent when it exists in that environment. I happen to actually enjoy the occasional Justin Timberlake song… mostly because I love the production.
Because pop music is so generic and neutered of most genuine humanity that American Idol actually adds emotional content to the mix. It makes pop music a bit more relevant.
What’s wrong with Idol? Well, it’s still a Factory Music enterprise. The premise is that a person can just wail away to tracks other musicians play, to songs other artists wrote and still be considered “talent.”
American Idol contestants are performers, much like clowns, not musicians.
Real music is born from cluttered garages, dirty nightclubs, and practice, practice, practice! Real music involves the chance that a show might get cancelled because the bassist is rushed to the ER in an amp & beer related electrical accident. Real music is about art, and art is about creative expression, and creative expression starts when you actually create something.
Just discovered this, but have to say, agree 100%, especially when you’ve actually seen a bassist have an amp & beer related electrical accident
SURPRISE!
We’ve got a last-minute show, and it’s a doozey!
This Saturday, May 16th, DOWNSTAIRS at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA we’ll join our friends Dirty Strange as well as Life’s Eyes and Out of Reach for a night of some sure kick’n-ass heavy rock!
For those unaware, this is one of THE top venues in the Boston area, many a national act has made its way through those doors, so for us to be playing on that same stage is VERY exciting! We hope to see as many friends out there as possible, and meet some new ones as well!
We are soon to be heading into the studio, to record this song “Everything” as our first professionally-recorded single. We can’t wait to share the final product with everyone, it’s so exciting!
Also be on the lookout for a third demo track “Beg” to be streaming on our myspace page whenever we finish mixing it.
